Well, I've gone and done it again. I've registered for my 6th marathon. The one I've chosen to do is in Morganton, NC and it's called the Ridge to Bridge marathon. I've done this one before a few years ago. It wasn't pretty. I hit the infamous wall around mile 19 after climbing the 2 ascents that the awesome people who put on this race fairly warned me about. I struggled through the last 7 miles and have never been happier about seeing a finish line-especially when my little one ran up to greet me there (see last photo). But, with that said, it was the most beautiful scenery I've ever had while running, they have changed the course which does not include those 2 monster hills (: and I survived it. The proof is in picture above taken a few hours after the race. My husband, girls and I walked some trails and went to Linville caverns. A couple of Aleve and I was good to go! Training starts soon and I'm real excited. Of course I'm always hoping to qualify for Boston so we'll see.... Wish me luck!
Race starts here! Imagine it dark and a bunch of half-dressed people standing around or pacing or jumping up and down in peparation.
Yay!
So happy to see my family. Thanks, Brown Mtn Running club for an awesome experience. Looking forward to this year.
